There are three compounds of Nat and Ars with similar names: Sodium arsenate, german Natriumarsenat, Formula Na3AsO4 - homeop.: Natrium arsenicosum Sodium arsenite, german Natriumarsenit, Formula NaAsO2 - homeop.: Natrium arsenicicum Sodium arsenide, german Natriumarsenid, Formula NaAs or Na3As - homeop.: Natrium arsenicatum This (above) is, how it should be ideally, as far as I understand our nomenclatura. But if you look into three different classical works, you already find that Allen gives Natrium arsenicatum. Clarks names it Natrum arsenicicum and Kent Natrum arsenicosum. And all three of them are clearly talking about the same substance as they are refering to the same provings. Above this Allen names it chemically Sodium arseniate and gives a formula of Na3AsO4 (xH2O), whereas Clarke calles it Sodium arsenate or Hydric di-sodic arsenate and gives the formula Na2HAsO4. Not even the substance of the original works seems to be clear. And they use different abbrev. as well. Nat-ar or Nat-ars. Even chemically the salts are not clearly defined according to Wikipedia: Sodium arsenite also Sodium arsenate III Sodium arsenate also Sodium dihydrogen arsenate or Disodium hydrogen arsenate (NaH2AsO4 or Na2HAsO4) And there are still more, which we probably don´t use homeopathically: Natriummetaarsenat NaAsO3 Natriumdiarsenat Na4As2O7 Helios uses the names in the way Clarke did. Remedia says Natrium arsenicosum = Natrium arsenicatum NaH2AsO4, Na2HAsO4 and Natrium arsenicicum = Natrium arsenicum, HNa2AsO3 Gudjons has: Natrium arsenicatum, Natrium arsenicosum, Natrium arsenicum, Natrum arsenicum = Natriumarsenit, NaAsO2 = Arsenate of Sodium, Di-sodic arsenate. But however they call it, in the end it seems that in homeopathy we are only talking about one substance: Sodium arsenate Na3AsO4 (with the possible variation of replacing one Na by one H). And this should be called Natrium arsenicosum, Nat-ar. This remedy you would get from Remedia as Natrium arsenicatum and from Helios as Natrium arsenicicum. | ||
